Basset & Gold Hold Their Inaugural Investors’ Evening

Earlier this month, we held our first ever Smart Investors’ Evening event. It was hosted at the Chairman’s Lounge, which is an intimate and welcoming room that offers spectacular panoramic views of West Ham United’s London Stadium.

The evening was arranged as a means of thanking our clients for choosing Basset & Gold as their investment partner.

Guests were treated to pitch side stadium tours and a very large digital screen welcome.

Upon arrival, investors were given a warm welcome and had the opportunity to meet fellow investors, as well as to chat with members of the Basset & Gold team, including their dedicated Relationship Manager. It was the perfect opportunity for some of our investors to put a face to a familiar voice.

Our special guest for the evening was Nick Hewer, the presenter of Countdown and former adviser to Alan Sugar on The Apprentice. Nick was on hand to spend time with attendees and talk about his television career.

Nick Hewer Delivers The Highlight Of The Evening

After the meet and greet, our guests were given a tour of the London Stadium which was fully illuminated to mark the occasion. They were then given a welcoming speech from members of our team, before sitting down to enjoy a delicious three-course meal. The atmosphere in the room was electric and investors took the time to speak with fellow attendees.

Nick Hewer greeted guests and entertained all with an engaging and amusing after-dinner speech.

The dinner concluded with the highlight of the evening – a talk given by Nick, who was entertaining and humorous throughout. He spoke about his life and career and kept us all enthralled with is regaling of times spent with Lord Sugar. Nick recounted stories of his time in PR and marketing, all with his particular wry sense of humour and astute insights.

Everyone Gave Thanks For A Wonderful Evening

One of our Directors, Daniel Smith, said of the evening: “Our inaugural investors’ event was a great success, one which all the guests enjoyed thoroughly. Our plan is to put these events on more frequently in the future and open them up to our investors up and down the country. This will give us a chance to meet – and thank – our clients directly. I’d like to give a personal thank you to all who could make this wonderful evening.”

Investors also expressed their appreciation with words of thanks after the event, including one appreciative investor who wrote "Just to say thank you all for a very enjoyable evening last night at the West Ham Stadium. Did not know what to expect, great to be shown around the stadium and to meet you all, Nick gave a great ‘after dinner talk’.”

Nick was also kind enough to tweet about the evening, saying thanks to the audience for being warm and announcing it had been fun for him too.

We’re looking forward to the next Basset & Gold Investors’ Evening and if you are an investor, we hope to see you there too.
